Amsterdam, 29 October, 2025 – Tap Electric, the charger and energy management platform , today announced the successful launch of Belgium’s first Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Ready Charging Plaza in Bonheiden. Located at the Gemeenschapscentrum ‘t Blikveld, the plaza showcases a collaborative, solar-powered ecosystem where parked electric vehicles (EVs) can actively support the local energy grid and community.

Bidirectional charging: turning EVs into community assets
Tap Electric manages this complex energy flow using its OCPP-based software. This software enables the two-way energy transfer between the chargers, vehicles, and the grid, optimising each session—whether charging or discharging—for three key priorities: driver convenience, energy cost optimisation and local grid balance. All the intelligence happens seamlessly in the background once drivers plug in, and makes sure drivers get power when they need it.
