If it’s free for local authorities and councils to use Tap, how does Tap make money?
Tap adds a service fee to the driver, and never charges any fees to the owner. This service fee starts at 10% for pay-as-you-go drivers, and can be reduced to as low as 0% depending on which subscription they choose. So, you get paid the full tariff that you set, and drivers pay the rate we show them in the app before the session starts.It’s clear for everyone and we don’t add any unnecessary costs in the chain – fair is fair!
What tariff should I set for my EV chargers?
Tap makes it easy to set competitive and profitable charging tariffs. Our “Analyse this area” feature on the map (in the mobile app) shows you the average cost to charge at nearby stations, helping you stay in line with market rates. Don’t forget to factor in your energy costs, charger maintenance, and desired profit margin to maximise your earnings!
